Debra Kraft shares the same belief alongside my partner and me. Even if we were to have good communication skills, language barriers and knowledge may still be different globally. This would greatly affect the ultimate goals that the main contractor and the employer wish to achieve. Which at the end of the day communicating with an understanding of where both sides are coming from and their capability is still as important.
Things can still be communicated not just by using words but also can be by graphically. Allowing both sides to show a better idea of what they would and want to achieve in the end. This would remove the unnecessary misunderstandings that would cause in the near future or the present. Delivering the right message would greatly shorten the time for confirmation before the commencement of work. Therefore, I agree with what Debra Kraft mentioned as a careers content writer which actually points out what a lot of people face in the present situation.
The reflection is very insightful and relates to real world application in civil engineering. However, there are some sentence structuring and phrasing errors that needs to be edited. -Galven
ReplyDeleteThank you Alvin. I agree with the points you raised. Understanding others and ensuring that others can comprehend you just as well is a crucial skill set to have, especially in today’s globalised setting. The repercussions for not communicating clearly could be extremely sever.
