In the article posted by the Housing and Development Board (HDB) (2021), has requested the 7th  SolarNova program solar leasing tender. Jointly developed by HDB and the Singapore Economic Development Board, the program intends to hasten the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in Singapore and promote the expansion of the solar industry. The HDB Green Towns Program (GTP), which strives to make HDB towns more environmental and pleasant, also relies mainly on the SolarNova program. So far, HDB has committed to a total solar capacity of 380 MWp for around 8,400 HDB blocks, enough to power 95,000 4-room flats with solar energy. In 2019, HDB set a new target of 540 MWp by 2030. A total of 1,290 HDB blocks and 99 government sites are included in the newest SolarNova tender, which has a solar capacity of 75 MWp. Launched in 2020, the HDB GTP intends to introduce sustainable living to all current HDB towns by 2030, with a particular emphasis on lowering grid energy usage through solar energy. As of right now, HDB is the main force behind the installation of solar PV systems in Singapore, and it wants to put solar panels on as many HDB blocks as feasible.
